Mendoza build a Harary “Slicer” and sold it c1990. Instead of paying a fee to Harary, the agreed David would build him an illusion instead. So Harary quickly drew up plans for the Moon Shadow Illusion which is at its core a shadowbox. Because the design is original to Harary, he still retains the rights for Moon Shadow and has used it in his show since its creation.

The magician assembles a lantern from separate pieces of glass. He then covers it with a silk and the shadow of a girl appears. The cloth is removed revealing the assistant inside.
